Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem (AVP-R) | ||
|
I admit that I liked the first movie, even though it was a let down on many levels. This sequel is just plain awful. I've never cared about the main characters any less than I did in this film. It's a total waste of an hour and a half. |

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story - Most spoof movies are hardly
worth watching, let alone talking about. Walk Hard is an exception to
the rule. With a Golden Globe nominated performance by John C. Reilly,
and a hilarious soundtrack ( "Duet" is the best), this movie succeeds
where others fail. It's a loosely based spoof of "Walk The Line" but it
also incorporates many different eras of the music industry. By far,
it's one of the funniest movies of the 2007. |

Bee Movie - I'm a huge Seinfeld fan, so I was optimistic about this movie. It was funny, and the animation was some of the best. My problem with it was the dialogue. It wasn't what was being said, it was just that there was too much, and it got really old quick listening to Jerry Seinfeld's voice. Other than that, it was a good family movie. |

Death Sentence - Kevin Bacon stars as a father dealing with the murder of his teenage son, and the failure of the justice system. Seeing how the law will not bring the closure he needs, he sets out for revenge against the ruthless gang responsible. This is a brutal movie, with severe plot holes, but I was able to enjoy it for what it was. A revenge flick, similar to "The Punisher". |

Rush Hour 3 - I liked the first movie, but part 2, and now 3 are pretty lame in comparison. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker return to cash in on a franchise that should have never spawned a sequel, let alone 2 sequels. |

3:10 to Yuma - This remake of the classic 1957 Western is also one of my favorites of 2007. Christian Bale takes over the role of Dan Evans, the one-legged rancher, who is recruited to help transport the outlaw Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) to Yuma, to await trial. Bale is one of the best actors working today, but Crowe's portrayal of the charismatic, yet ruthless Wade, makes this an instant classic. |

Shoot 'Em Up - No matter how you describe this movie, it sounds ridiculous. A man (Clive Owen) sitting on a bench eating a carrot, witnesses a pregnant woman being chased by a man with a gun, and steps in to help. The plot, as thin as it is, simply doesn't matter. The acting, and the action, make this a fun, over the top, and extremely violent film. Paul Giamatti has fun on screen as the villian, who periodically has to stop shooting to take phone calls from his wife. |

Rescue Dawn - Another movie starring Christian Bale, this time in a true story about a US fighter pilot (Lt. Deiter Dengler) shot down over Laos at the start of the Vietnam war. When he's captured, and held as a POW, he develops friendships, and an "at any cost" desire to escape. Steve Zahn shows his dramatic side as a fellow prisoner, Duane, who puts his trust in Dengler to help him escape. This is a heartbreaking, yet fantastic movie about bravery, and the will to survive. |
